Sarhat Petrosyan was appointed head of the Real Estate Cadastre Committee according to the decision of the Armenian government on August 09, 2018. Sarhat Petrosyan is the founder and director of urbanlab founded in 2012. Urbanlab (sometimes also urbanlab_am and/or urbanlab.am) is a Yerevan-based independent urban think-do-share lab, aimed to promote democratization of urban landscape toward sustainable development in its broader understanding. Sarhat Petrosyan holds M.S. in Architecture and Ph.D. in Urban Planning from National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. During 2004-2017 he worked as an Associate Professor at the Chair of Urban Planning of the same university. His fields of interest are urban design qualities and policies on urban development.
Since 2007 Sarhat has been an International and Local Expert on Sustainable Urban Planning and Development. He has worked for Imagine Centre for Conflict Transformation NGO, Heinrich Boel Foundation South Caucasus Office, DVV International, World Bank Group, OSCE, Council of Europe and many other local and international organizations.
In 2016, he was appointed as the curator of Armenian National Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
